15-12-2011: LWAW Videos tell the story

The Company Pride Platform was pleased to be involved with the recent “L-Women at Work Conference” which was held on 11 November at the Park Hotel in Amsterdam. This event brought together 100 women from 11 different countries to exchange ideas and experiences about what it means to be a Lesbian at work, in the home and in society.

This ground-breaking event used a fast-paced conference format in which women spoke for either 6 or 12 minutes on a variety of topics. Through personal stories, anecdotes and impassioned testimonials, the challenges that many lesbians face in the working world were made vivid for all participants. Also though, the positive approaches and uplifting examples of how things CAN be were truly inspiring for everyone present.

L-Women at Work was made possible through the dedicated volunteer work of a number of individuals and the sponsorship of several organizations; a number of which are CPP Members.

The Company Pride Platform salutes this effort to increase visibility for Lesbians at work and we look forward to the next L-WAW event which is planned for 9 November 2012 in Amsterdam.
